Rimmel London Wake Me Up vs Bourjois Healthy Mix – Reformulated

Hi everyone, today I’m going to be doing a little review on two foundations and concealers that have recently been reformulated that I am absolutely loving! πŸ™‚ The Rimmel London Wake Me Up releases and the new Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation and Concealer.Rimmel London Wake Me Up vs Bourjois Healthy Mix - Reformulated | Annie Rosee

Firstly, I’ll start with the new Rimmel London releases. There were three releases in the range including the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation and concealer, plus the Insta Fix and Go Spray.
Both the foundation and concealer have been reformulated to include more Vitamin C to brighten and visibly reduce the signs of daily stress and fatigue. The new anti-fatigue formula contains SPF 20 and a vitamin complex which is super important to have these days in your foundation or to add to your skincare routine everyday with the harsh sun and environmental factors that bring on premature aging. It also includes radiance pearls that leave your skin looking more radiant and glowy.

I’ve had a good chance to test them out and now I want to share my thoughts with you all. πŸ™‚

I haven’t tried the old formula of the foundation or concealer. I’m not able to compare the new formulation to anything. But I am able to give you my first impressions. πŸ™‚

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation

I have been testing the shade 103 true ivory which in the bottle looks like it would be extremely dark, especially as I’m super pale I thought it was going to be way to dark for me. I first used it with my handy old Australis shade adjusting dropsΒ and it worked a treat. Also using my favourite makeup sponge, the real techniques miracle complexion spongeΒ to apply the foundation. It blends super quick and gives such a lovely medium coverage and feels super light on, perfect for everyday wear. When wearing this foundation without the lightening drops, it was perfect for when I was wearing fake tan. It matched my neck and chest perfectly.
I did find that it went quite dewy throughout the day and oxidized a tiny bit, even when setting it with a powder. A little too much for the type of finish that I like personally, but others love it. It all comes down to your personal preference. I love that the foundation includes SPF 20, as that’s something that is super important that you wear on a daily basis and a lot of people forget to add it into their skincare routine in the morning. SPF is something you should be wearing everyday, not just those days you’re planning on going out in the sun such as going to the beach or doing the gardening.
I think this foundation would be perfect for someone who has dryer skin, those with a more oily skin type I wouldn’t suggest using this foundation. πŸ™‚Rimmel London Wake Me Up vs Bourjois Healthy Mix - Reformulated | Annie Rosee

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer

Now for the concealer, it also contains vitamin C and radiance pearls, that instantly brightens the skin when using it under the eye are as it diffuses light to conceal dark circles for a radiant finish.
I’ve been using the lightest shade, 010 Ivory which I think is great for covering up my dark circles and slightly brightening but it just isn’t light enough for it to fully brighten up my under eye area enough as I’d like as I’m so pale.
The creamy texture is super easy to blend and covers up any redness that I have on my cheeks and forehead. It does work best when setting it with a powder, I found that it creased a little under my eyes if I didn’t set it. I would suggest this product to anyone looking for an affordable, light weight, medium coverage concealer. I have been really loving it and have been reaching for it quite a lot lately to cover up any redness.

Insta Fix and Go 2 In 1 Primer & Setting Spray

Lastly is the Insta Fix and Go 2 In 1 Primer & Setting Spray. I love the idea of having a two in one product! This makeup spray is an exciting first for the brand. It can be used as a primer which you use before applying your makeup, and also as a setting spray to make your makeup last longer by locking it into place. My first impression, I found it had a nice cucumber scent which isn’t too overpowering, and was quite refreshing. I did also notice that using this over the top of the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation that it made the finish of the foundation, even more dewy than before. So personally, I wasn’t a fan of using these two together but others may love that healthy dewy look. πŸ™‚
I haven’t had a chance to try it with another foundation yet. When I do I will keep you all updated. πŸ™‚

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation and Concealer

I again have never tried the previous formulation of either of these but I am going to give you my first impressions on the newly formulated products. πŸ™‚
The new creamy anti-fatigue formula, which contains a combination of Vitamins, C, E and B5, that helps to keep your complexion looking healthy and radiant and reducing the signs of fatigue.Rimmel London Wake Me Up vs Bourjois Healthy Mix - Reformulated | Annie Rosee
I’ve been wearing the shade No.52 Vanilla which is the perfect shade for me, usually I go with the lightest choice but the No.52 is just right.
This foundation has a medium coverage and is easily buildable without going cakey. I again used my favourite makeup sponge, the real techniques miracle complexion spongeΒ to apply the foundation by pumping one full pump, per area onto the sponge and blending/dabbing it into my skin. It’s super lightweight, looks natural, but still has that great coverage that most people look for in a foundation.
The finish it gives is more of a satin finish but when using it with a powder it creates more of a matte finish, which is just how I like my makeup finish.
I absolutely love using this foundation and pretty much have been using it everyday since receiving it. The foundation lasts a full day at work and doesn’t budge, even when I haven’t used a setting spray. My skin looks brighter and smoother after applying it and it doesn’t oxidize or go extremely dewy throughout the day. Thumbs up!! πŸ™‚

The formula of the Healthy Mix Concealer is creamy, lightweight and buildable. It is super easy to blend and I haven’t had any troubles with it creasing after setting it. Healthy Mix Concealer works to cover dark circles, redness and blemishes, leaving skin looking luminous and hydrated all day. I love using the newly formulated foundation along with this concealer for the perfect coverage. πŸ™‚

Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed.

I’ve not tried the Bourjois one before but I’m really tempted now, I always thought it was really light coverage, but if it’s medium and buildable, I think I’ll love it!
