Stuck with growing your Instagram? Top Tips from a Beauty Blogger

Stuck with growing your Instagram? I’m here to help. Tips from a Beauty Blogger.

I often get asked by my fellow Instagram fStuck with growing your Instagram? Top Tips from a Beauty Blogger | Annie Roseeriends how they’re able to grow their following and engagement on their Instagram account.
So today I’m going to write my top tips that have helped me and many other Instagrammers grow to where they are today.

I know that there are many more bloggers and Instagramers out there who have a much larger following than what I do. But I feel that being asked myself how I have grown my account personally is a compliment. I’m happy to help you all out as much as I possibly can by sharing my tips that have worked for me. 🙂

My Instagram account consists of mainly beauty, makeup and skincare posts. No matter your style these tips should work for you too.

Plan & Schedule Your Posts

Having an aesthetically pleasing feed that flows is something that is quite important when trying to grow your Instagram. Making sure you’re thinking about what you’re going to be posting before posting it is key. If you’re going to be posting 1-2 times a day, I suggest carefully planning what you’re going to be posting and that it matches your feed. Your followers, and potential new followers, want to know what to expect from you. Having your image ready, edited and the caption ready to post helps you keep organized and will save you time when it comes to posting.

I use the app called “Plan, which is basically a scheduling app to visually design your feed in advance. The app is also full of other great features such as setting a reminder so you never forget when to post. Saving time by drafting captions and scheduling posts in advance. You’ll never have to stress about what to say when it’s time to post. Plus there is a place for you to store your most regularly used hashtags on the app, keeping them all stored in the one place.
They have recently introduced in their latest update Analytic’s for your Instagram account. Yay! 😀
Which includes, your best performing posts, based on likes, comments and engagement, best daily times for you to post, follower growth and your best performing hashtag sets. Using your analysis is key to your growth on Instagram.

Use Hashtags, ALWAYS

This is probably the most important tip I have for you. Using hashtags are almost crucial to growing your Instagram quickly or even at all. Hashtags are what makes you the most visible to the people you are trying to get your posts to reach. Using hashtags that suit your audience and niche, such as beauty, lifestyle, fashion, etc. Each type of account has different hashtags that will work best for you. Using hashtags that are relevant to your post as well will help the right audience find your posts. You’re able to use up to 30 hashtags on each post. Just remember each hashtag you use is another chance at gaining more exposure, so choose them wisely. The best way to find what hashtags are best for you is to see what tags are currently trending in your niche and by researching them online.

Engage With Other Accounts

I know that when I comment on a post on Instagram, it’s always nice when the person takes the time to reply to you.
Engaging with your followers and other accounts on Instagram is another crucial tip to have yourself seen by more of the Instagram world and to grow. Followers love it when you take the time to reply and answer their questions they may have. They will feel more connected and want to come back and comment and like your posts more and more. If you’re someone who receives quite a lot of comments on their posts, maybe just even use the “like” which is the little heart on the right side of the comment to show that you’ve acknowledged their comment. It is also very beneficial to like and comment on other accounts post. Doing this, again will open you up to being seen by a wider audience and their followers may come to check out your account. The accounts you engage with, usually will share the love back and show their support on your posts too. Instagram’s algorithm is just crazy at the moment so this is one of the best ways of being seen and to grow.

Post Quality Photos

You don’t need an expensive camera to be able to produce a quality photo. You can still get high quality images these days just with your smart phone and good lighting. Quality photos show professionalism and are aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Using as much natural lighting for you images works best and gives you a quality image, rather than taking a photo in a dark room with the flash. Followers will be more drawn to an account with bright, clear posts over dark grainy ones. I know I am anyway. Also, having your own “theme” I guess you would call it, makes you different from everyone else. There are so many people out there all doing the same thing. So try and find something different to everyone else and make it your own. There are many bloggers out there that I can look at an image and know it’s theirs before even looking who has posted it because they have their own special touch to each of their images. An amazing app for whitening, highlighting & brightening would have to be “Facetune” you can also sharpen images, smooth areas, remove red eyes, apply filters and much more. For only $5.99 it is definitely worth it. There is also a heap of free editing apps out there to that you can use to create that perfect image.

Consistency Is Key

It’s so much more appealing to look at an overall feed, when it has a “theme” and the posts are consistent. You should be aware of the type of photos you are posting and in what order. Again, using the Plan” app I mentioned above helps you to create the perfect feed, in the perfect order that is most aesthetically pleasing to the eye. It’s all about figuring out how you want your feed to look, and you want to make it attractive. When someone is deciding whether or not they want to follow you, they will look at your feed and they instantly will know if they want to click that follow button.

 Group Networking & Collaborating

There are a lot of great groups out there where bloggers can join together and support each other. Having support from other bloggers is a big part of growing yourself as well. Many groups are available for you to join such as “like & comment pods” where you all support each other by liking and commenting on recent posts. An amazing group on Facebook, named “Beauty Bloggers Corner” where bloggers all come together to support one another and is full of support, encouragement and wonderful people.
Another great way is by collaborating with other bloggers, there are many different ways of doing this such as; featuring each other on one anothers account or blog, giveaways, hashtags, challenges, collab posts, twitter chats and the list goes on.
I have met so many amazing bloggers already on my journey. Especially one small group of girls who have all been together in a group for a long time now. Pretty much since I started my blog and a lot of the others were only newbies too. We have all been able to grow together and share our tips and tricks and talk about anything together.

Without the help of family and friends who I’ve met through the beauty community I couldn’t have got to where I am today.
